You probably already know I’m a big fan of starlings (Sturnus vulgaris). I’ve been working on variations of this composition of a starling in the reeds in various media. This is a combination of monoprint, drypoint, inks, watercolour and decoupage. The shimmer of the reeds in the fading light is achieved with gold inks.
A painting of the voyage of HMS Beagle, the ship on which Charles Darwin travelled around the world -with particular attention to South America - making discoveries as he went that would change the course of natural science.
This painting is no longer available, and is shown here for your viewing pleasure. However, a range of print of it is available. It looks especially good printed onto a canvas.
