About the Gower map
My Gower map is a painting of the whole the beautiful peninsula in South Wales, just to the west of Swansea.
The painting was a commissioned by a woman who wanted to present a unique and long-lasting gift to her husband of his ‘happy place’ for a Big Birthday. The Gower map shows some of the many wonderful things to be enjoyed in that magical part of Wales. Running down sand dunes to the beach. Surfing at Rhossili Bay. Cycling through the woods. Spotting wildlife on shore and at sea. Or the simple joy of an ice cream on the beach!
The new owner of the original painting says: “I can’t thank you enough for all the pleasure this will bring – there are so many beautiful moments and places… it brought a few tears.” I think he can feel the love I put into it. I hope you like it too, and that if you have been to the Gower, you’ll recognise some of the places and things I’ve illustrated.
Some places have a simple, self-contained magic and the Gower is one such place. If you haven’t been, why not?!
