We saw a number of grey wagtails (Motacilla cinerea) hunting dragonflies and damselflies by the river Windrush on a walk in June 2020. This little footbridge crosses the Windrush in the meadows just to the east of the ruins of Minster Lovell Hall in West Oxfordshire.
Mrs Grey Wagtail has slightly less impressive plumage than ther husband, but she is strikingly beautiful, nevertheless. These wagtails are commonly seen by lakes and rivers.
Painted in late June 2020 as lockdown eased.
