This painting is my own version of Vincent’s painting of a starry night over the Rhone. I drew it from the same spot in Arles on the Place Lamartine where van Gogh observed the scene in 1888. It’s barely changed in more than 100 years and still has the same magic which drew Vincent to the scene. It is just a stone’s throw from the lace where he lived at what he called The Yellow House.
