We saw these dense clumps of bright yellow flag irises (Iris pseudacorus) on the willowy banks of the river Thames on a riverside walk at Pinkhill, near Farmoor in Oxfordshire. These are one of my very favourite flowers. You know summer is finally here when the Old Father Thames puts the flags out!
Painted in June 2020 as lockdown eased.
