I’ve always been intrigued by the work of 19th century photographer Eadweard Muybridge and his impact on the way we perceive movement. You might know about his sequence of stills of racehorses which proved that a one point during the stride of a gallop all four hooves were off the ground. After a trip to East Africa, I thought I’d try a similar thing with a sequence of still photographs my husband took of a zebra running; we startled it out of a bush near Lake Naivasha, Kenya.
