Drypoint is a fine art intaglio hand-made printmaking technique, a little like etching but without the use of acid. Instead of metal plates, I scratch out the design on sheets of perspex or polypropylene and print from these. All my drypoints are hand-tinted with watercolour. Because of the huge forces involved when running the plate through the press, the plate breaks down quickly; I rarely get more than 12 impressions from each plate. Each impression is a unique work of art, differing slightly from the rest of the prints in the run.
