When Robins Appear is a charming watercolour painting of a European robin (Erithacus rubecula) with forget-me-nots (Myosotis sylvatica).

This little painting of a robin among forget-me-nots evokes the saying: "When robins appear, loved ones are near".

The robin has twice been voted Britain's favourite bird, and it's not hard to understand why. Robins have centuries of folklore. This bird is a messenger, a protector from storms, and a symbol of rebirth. And it carries the spirits of lost loved ones.

My painting is a visual reminder of all those people we have loved who are no longer with us. Perhaps you feel this too?

The starry winter's night my stepfather died, a robin was singing his heart out from our rooftop as I left the house to go to mum's. And later, when we arrived at the funeral, guess who was singing in the hedgerow as we stepped out of the car?!

It brings me comfort to imagine that these tuneful little birds perhaps carry the stardust of our late friends and fam. If this resonates with you, then this would make an enchanting and joyful reminder of a lost loved one.
