A classic British tea towel of my painting Old Father Thames.

My Old Father Thames tea towel shows my 2024 painting of the river from source to sea - with no sewage in sight!

The Thames flows through every vein of English history. The river, and its many tributaries, are as important in the history of England as the Nile is to Egypt.

In the top left hand corner there's Old Father Thames at the river's source. As it flows east through the villages and towns of southern England I have included some activities, history and nature - fish, birds and animals. There are cultural references including "The Wind in the Willows",  the Piper at the Gates of Dawn, and Jerome K Jerome’s “Three Men in a Boat”. Look out for King Henry VIII at Hampton, Elizabeth I at Tilbury and mudlarking near Westminster. There's wild swimming, fishing, boating and more!

Posting your order

Typically, orders for physical products placed after 12pm on Friday, and on Saturday or Sunday will not be posted until Monday at the earliest. I use Royal Mail to dispatch your order.

If you have ordered multiple items, I will try to post everything together. Occasionally, this is not possible, in which case they will be dispatched in separate packages.

Digital files will typically be transferred to customers within 24 hours via email using WeTransfer, the file transfer website.
